A lightweight, modular and integrated project that honors the monumentality of the CCBB and the legacy of Isabel Salgado, highlighting sport as a language of care and inclusion. The intervention sought a balance between functionality, emotion and aesthetic clarity, reinforcing the public and symbolic character of the event.

The Isabel Salgado Award is an initiative conceived by Maria Clara Salgado, daughter of the honoree, which recognizes and celebrates social projects that use sports as a tool for social transformation. Aimed at athletes, former athletes and social entrepreneurs, the award highlights sports as a language of care, inclusion and positive impact.
The award ceremony took place in May 2025, at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro — one of the most important cultural facilities in the country and an architectural heritage site of the city.
At the invitation of the Instituto da Criança, responsible for managing the project, Esfera JUÁ designed the architecture, scenography and expography for the event.
Our project was based on the recognition of the symbolic and historical strength of the CCBB, together with the legacy of athlete Isabel Salgado. We honored the building's architecture with a light, modular and silent proposal, capable of dialoguing with the monumentality of the space without competing with it — reinforcing its public and institutional vocation.
We created an integrated environment, which accommodated both the award ceremony rituals and the spontaneous flows of occupation, maintaining a balance between functionality, emotion and aesthetic clarity.
